Starting A Business After Redundancy..

Steven Lavinaro and good friend and work colleague Anthony Curtis, set up Rumney Automotive Centre Ltd, at Unit 5 Wentloog Buildings, Rumney in 2014. After being made redundant, although both had offers of new jobs, they believed with the economy on the up, it was the right time to start up a garage, and have a MOT test centre of their own!

Securing sprawling units in Rumney Cardiff, with ample free parking for customers, suppliers and staff, it was ideal building for the new MOT Test Station. Both the Class 4 and the Class 7 MOT testing could be offered. The large premises allowing for a range of garage services to be offered, from an MOT Test Station to tyre changing and, every sort of mechanical work and diagnostics.

Over the years the company have taken on staff, expanded services, in addition to carrying out a number of refurbishments to the premises. The company successfully became a MOT Test Station for Class 4 & 7 .

The company has gone from strength to strength since setting up in 2014, now providing a range of garage services to hundreds of customers, while still retaining a personal touch, with Staff on first name terms with many of Rumney Automotive customers. Staff are also very active on Facebook managing queries, and bookings from RumneyAutomotive 2,500+ followers.
